Looking for scrap car removal in Pitt Meadows? Vancouver Scrap Car covers the whole city — from South Bonson to North Bonson — with the same process we run across the Lower Mainland: one call, a same-day pickup, and cash in hand before the tow truck leaves your driveway. Bring your ID and proof of ownership — registration, bill of sale, or insurance papers — and we’ll handle the ICBC transfer paperwork on-site. Missing something? Call us first and we’ll tell you what works.

Three steps, the same way we do it across the Lower Mainland.
STEP 1
Tell us the year, make and model, what’s wrong with the car, and where in Pitt Meadows it’s parked. Photos help. We give you an offer over the phone.
STEP 2
We come to the car, whether it’s in a driveway, on the street, in a parkade or out in a field. Towing is free anywhere in Pitt Meadows. The driver checks the car against the photos and details you gave us. If it matches, you get the price we agreed on the phone.
STEP 3
You’re paid on pickup, by cash or e-transfer, before the car leaves. We handle the ICBC transfer paperwork on the spot, so there’s no second trip for you.
Pitt Meadows is a small city wrapped in farmland. The City’s Points of Interest page says 78 per cent of its land is in the Agricultural Land Reserve, and that about 85 per cent of residents live in a core urban area of roughly 404 hectares. The area names below come from the City’s Official Community Plan. Towing is free from every one.
Town Centre is the plan’s term for the higher density commercial and residential area around Harris Road, from Lougheed Highway to 119th Avenue. The Civic Centre is the area surrounding City Hall. The plan says most new homes in Pitt Meadows in recent years have been apartments and townhouses, so have the parkade level or stall number ready.
The plan’s Osprey Waterfront Village, in the south of Pitt Meadows, with local shops along Barnston View Road. The plan itself mentions the limited parking situation in the village. Tell us exactly where the car sits and whether a truck can pull up next to it.
Home to the Golden Ears Business Park, with Airport Way running through it, a municipal truck route that leads to the Golden Ears Bridge. Pitt Meadows Regional Airport is west of Harris Road. For a vehicle at a business or hangar, name the unit and who can let a tow truck in.
Most of Pitt Meadows is farmland. The City says over 40 km of dikes protect the lowlands. The plan describes the northern reaches as heavily treed, with steep terrain. Expect ditches, long driveways and soft ground. Describe what lies between the road and the vehicle.
The plan records that Katzie 1, the most populous Katzie First Nation reserve, is in Pitt Meadows, and that the Nation manages land use on its reserve lands under its own laws. The rules below are the City’s. They are not rules for reserve lands. If the car is there, say so when you call.
Read from the City’s own bylaws, posted on its Find a Bylaw page. Each card links to the source.
The Property Maintenance Bylaw No. 1400, 1991 says no owner or occupier may let a property become or remain unsightly. Its meaning of unsightly includes storing all or part of any motor vehicle which is not validly registered and licensed, or capable of movement under its own power, unless it is stored in a closed structure. That means a structure whose contents can’t be seen from a street, a public place or another property.
A bylaw enforcement officer may give written notice to comply within 14 days of delivery. After that the City may remove the offending material at the expense of the person who didn’t comply. A removal cost still unpaid on December 31 of that year is added to the property’s taxes.
The City’s Report a Bylaw Complaint page says it does not accept anonymous complaints and keeps the complainant’s identity confidential.
Under Zoning Bylaw No. 2505, 2011, keeping wrecked vehicles is not permitted in any zone unless that zone provides for it. One exception: a single wrecked vehicle stored completely inside a building used for residential or accessory residential purposes.
In residential zones, the City’s Bylaw Violations FAQs quote the limit for vehicles kept outdoors: not more than one unlicensed vehicle in an operable condition.
The Highway and Traffic Bylaw No. 2836, 2020 bars parking on any highway or municipal property for a continuous period exceeding 72 hours without movement. It also bars parking a vehicle that doesn’t clearly display current and valid number plates and insurance as the Motor Vehicle Act requires.
The same bylaw says a vehicle unlawfully occupying a highway, or apparently abandoned on or near one, may be removed and impounded on the order of a bylaw officer or peace officer. The City may release it once the owner proves ownership and pays the impounding fees and charges. If it isn’t claimed within 14 days of the notice of impounding, it may be sold at public auction.
Neither the bylaw nor any City page we read names a tow yard. Ask Bylaw Services where the vehicle was taken.
ICBC’s steps for selling a used vehicle include confirming you’re the registered owner, signing the registration, filling out the Transfer/Tax Form (APV9T), and removing your licence plates.
To cancel your insurance, ICBC says to visit your Autoplan broker with your ID, your licence plates and your owner’s certificate. You can also transfer the insurance to another vehicle. These are ICBC’s general seller and cancellation steps; we handle the transfer paperwork with you at pickup.
This is general information, not legal advice. Bylaws change, and the City of Pitt Meadows’ and ICBC’s own pages are the authority. Check them, or call the City, before you rely on any of this.

It varies by car. We look at how much it weighs, the year, make and model, and which parts can still be sold. Phone us with those details and you’ll hear an offer before you hang up.
Use a buyer who tows for free and pays at pickup. You’ll need government-issued photo ID plus proof the car is yours, such as the registration, a bill of sale or insurance papers. Missing one? Call us first.
The City’s Highway and Traffic Bylaw doesn’t put a number of days on abandoned. It does say a vehicle may not stay parked on a street for more than 72 hours without moving, and that one apparently abandoned on or near a highway may be impounded.
In a residential zone, the Zoning Bylaw allows not more than one unlicensed vehicle outdoors, and it must be in an operable condition.
