Vancouver Scrap Car buys vehicles in any condition, anywhere in the Lower Mainland, with free towing and cash on the spot. Here’s a closer look at what we do, how pricing works, and what to expect when you call.
You’re paid on pickup, by cash or e-transfer. We’ve been doing this for 6+ years, from Hope to Pemberton.

Our core service: we buy scrap and junk cars for cash, based on the vehicle’s weight and condition rather than whether it runs. Sedans, hatchbacks, and everyday commuter cars make up most of what we pick up, and the process is the same regardless of make, model, or age.
Who it’s for: anyone with a car that has reached the end of the road and would cost more to fix than it’s worth.
What you do: call with the year, make, model and kilometres, or use the form on this page. Our online price estimator gives you a starting number first.

A junk car is the one that’s still on your property but hasn’t moved in a long time. We take it exactly as it sits. You don’t need to clean it, fix it or get it running first.
Who it’s for: homeowners and tenants who want a driveway, carport or parking stall back.
What you do: tell us where it’s parked and what shape it’s in. Before the truck arrives, take your plates off and clear out your belongings.

Not every car we buy is dead. Some still run and simply aren’t wanted any more: a second car nobody drives, a car you can’t take with you when you move, or one that isn’t worth the hassle of a private sale. Selling to us is one phone call and one pickup.
Who it’s for: anyone who wants the car gone and paid for without listing it.
What you do: call for an offer. There’s no obligation.

A dead battery, blown engine, failed transmission, or a car that’s been sitting for years — none of it is a problem. Our tow truck can winch a non-running vehicle onto the truck, so you don’t need to do anything to it beforehand: no jump-starting it, no rolling it out of a garage, no getting it running just to sell it. If it’s parked in a spot our tow truck can reach, we can take it from there.
Salvage and rebuilt-status vehicles, and cars written off after a collision, are some of the most common pickups we do. Title branding doesn’t affect our offer — a salvage or rebuilt title changes the paperwork, not the price we’ll pay for the vehicle’s weight and recoverable parts. See our guide on salvage and rebuilt titles for details on how that process works with ICBC.
Who it’s for: owners of cars that won’t start or were written off after a collision, flood or fire.
What you do: tell us what’s wrong with it, whether it rolls and steers, and where it’s parked. Photos help.

A car in an underground parkade or a strata stall takes more planning than one in a driveway. Tell us which stall it’s in, the height limit at the entrance if you know it, and how visitors get in. We’ll tell you on the phone what will work.
Who it’s for: people living in condos, townhouses and apartment buildings.
What you do: check your strata’s rules or message your property manager before you book. Some buildings want notice before a tow truck comes in, and you may need to arrange a fob, a gate code or an access time. The paperwork is the same as for any other car.

These are the pickups where paperwork matters most, so please call first.
Estate and inherited cars: an executor or administrator generally needs documents that show their authority to deal with the vehicle, along with the death certificate. ICBC has its own process for transferring a deceased person’s vehicle. Call us and we’ll go over what’s needed for your situation.
A vehicle left on your property: a car sitting on your land isn’t automatically yours to sell. In BC it typically still belongs to its last registered owner, or their lender, until that’s formally sorted out. Start with ICBC and your municipality’s bylaw office. Landlords have a legal process to follow before a tenant’s abandoned vehicle can be removed. We can’t give legal advice, but once you’re clear to sell it, we’ll take it as it sits.
What you do: call before you book. Every pickup needs government photo ID plus proof of ownership (registration, bill of sale, or insurance papers).

Beyond standard passenger cars, we also buy trucks, vans, SUVs, and motorcycles. Larger vehicles typically carry more recoverable weight, which can mean a higher offer, and our tow trucks are equipped to handle anything from a compact hatchback to a full-size pickup.
Who it’s for: owners of work trucks, vans, SUVs and motorcycles, and small businesses with more than one vehicle to clear.
What you do: tell us what each vehicle is and where it’s parked. If you have several, ask about picking up the whole group in one visit.

Towing is always included at no cost anywhere in our service area — there’s never a separate fee taken out of your offer, and there’s no minimum vehicle value required to qualify for free pickup.
For the cities furthest out (Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Mission, Hope, Squamish, Whistler and Pemberton), the tow is still free. The distance can be reflected in the offer, and we tell you that upfront on the phone, before you agree to anything.
What you do: tell us the city and where the car is parked when you call.

We handle the ICBC transfer paperwork at pickup, so there’s no second trip for you.
What you bring: government photo ID plus proof of ownership (registration, bill of sale, or insurance papers). Missing something? Call us first and we’ll tell you what works.
Your part: take your plates off before pickup. They go back to ICBC, not to us. If the car is still insured, cancel the insurance through an Autoplan broker. If a lender still has a lien on the vehicle, it needs to be cleared before we can take the car.

Pricing comes down to two things: the vehicle’s weight and its condition, plus current scrap metal prices, which move over time. A heavier vehicle with usable parts (a working transmission, an intact catalytic converter, good tires) is worth more than the same model stripped down or badly damaged — but nothing disqualifies a vehicle from an offer.
We give you a number over the phone or through our online estimator, then confirm the final offer by phone before the truck ever shows up, so there’s no surprise renegotiation once the driver arrives.

Three steps, the same way we do it across the Lower Mainland. Quotes are quick once we have photos and the details. Same-day pickup is often possible from Vancouver out to Chilliwack, depending on when you call.
STEP 1
Tell us the year, make and model, what’s wrong with the car, and where it’s parked. Photos help. We give you an offer over the phone.
STEP 2
We come to the car, whether it’s in a driveway, on the street, in a parkade or out in a field. Towing is free. The driver checks the car against the photos and details you gave us. If it matches, you get the price we agreed on the phone.
STEP 3
You’re paid on pickup, by cash or e-transfer, before the car leaves. We handle the ICBC transfer paperwork on the spot, so there’s no second trip for you.
We cover the Lower Mainland from Hope to Pemberton. Each city has its own page with local pickup details.
